A Unique All-Women Sports Raid in Morocco
Dakhla, February 12, 2026 — This afternoon at 5 PM sharp, the Dakhla desert resonated with applause and cheers of joy. The 12th edition of La Sahraouiya, Africa’s largest all-female sports raid, had just concluded in an electrifying atmosphere, celebrating a week of athletic feats and unwavering solidarity among women from all over the world.
An Exceptional Human and Sporting Adventure
From February 7 to 14, 2026, Dakhla welcomed hundreds of participants for this unique multisport adventure. Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the raid transformed the region’s breathtaking landscapes—between desert, lagoon, and Atlantic Ocean—into a true playground for self-transcendence.
For seven intense days, competitors faced a variety of challenges, including run & bike, boot camp, canoeing, trail running, orienteering, and mountain biking. Each stage tested their physical endurance and mental strength while reinforcing the bonds of sisterhood that define this event.
Diversity as a Strength
Sahraouiya 2026 stood out for its international dimension. Women from Morocco, Europe, West Africa, and Central Africa came together to share this transformative experience. This geographical and cultural diversity enriched the event, creating a true crossroads of exchange and shared values: courage, mutual aid, and determination.
The Lagon Dakhla Association for the Development of Sport and Cultural Activities, the event organizer, succeeded in making this edition an unforgettable moment, combining high-level sport and social commitment.
